Gaib Sagar Lake

Gaib Sagar Lake is mainly famous for the tourists attracttions that nestles on its lakeside and a good variety of migratory birds that consider this location as their home. Thousands of ducks, gray and purple herons, egrets, purple moorhens, white breasted waterhens, bee-eaters and green pigeons are seen near the lakeside. The lakes look beautiful especially in the evening when the sun starts descending slowly beyond the hill. Do visit the shrine of Shrinathji, which contains the beautifully carved Vijay Rajrajeshwar Temple. Sacred to Lord Shiva, Shrinathji features the skilled craftsmanship of the famed sculptors or ‘shilpkars’ of Dungarpur. Besides the Srinathji, tourists can also visit the Badal Mahal, Vijay Rajrajeshwer Temple, and Udai Bilas Palace, all located on the bank of lake.

Best Time to Visit
As this lake is located in the Dungarpur region of the hot state of Rajasthan, the time you should avoid is certain to visit here. You should avoid making a visit to the Gaib Sagar Lake during the hot summer months of April, May, and June. However, you can be sure that the rest of the year is a great time. But to make the most and enjoy a cool temperature, visit between the months of October-November and February-March.

How to Reach
The Gaib Sagar Lake, located in the district of Dungarpur, can be easily accessed by all tourists and travelers via road. You can reach Udaipur via air, rail, or even through the state transport buses. Once you have reached here, all you need is a taxi, cab, or an auto to reach the Gaib Sagar Lake. You can even get down at the Dungarpur Railway Station if you are traveling by train. Trains from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and various metro cities are halting at the Dungarpur station as well.
