Dudh Talai Lake

The Doodh Talai Lake is placed in the beautiful city of Udaipur in Rajasthan. It finds its place right in the middle of the city. The lake is surrounded by various other important places of visit like the Manikya Lal Verma Garden, Lake Pichola, Shiva Niwas Palace etc.

The Doodhi Talai Lake is one such splendid attraction of the city. The nomenclature of the lake literally means “Small Milk Pond”. The lake is believed to serve the water requirement of the cows in the area. The cows in turn would cater to the daily requirement of dairy to the royal family. Right from quenching the thirst of the Cows to cleaning and bathing them, all used to take place in the lake. The Doodhi Talai lake mainly served the fresh water requirement of the royal kitchen.

The Doodhi Talai lake is surrounded by small hills all around. Tourists can enjoy various adventure activities like horse ride and camel rides in the area. A temple is placed on the top of the hillock called the temple of Manshapurna Karni Mata. The speciality of the idol of Goddess Karni is that it is milky white. Thousands of devotees from all across India visit the temple to get the blessings of the goddess.
