Munnar Tourism

Munnar Tourism has captured the attention of many and is one of the most famous tourist destinations in India. With scenic natural beauty, this town is situated on the Western Ghats at an altitude of about 1,600 metres. Munnar lies in the Idukki district of Kerala and is a hill station that is famous as one of the most romantic honeymoon destinations in India. The place is rich in flora and fauna. With picturesque views of the mist-clad hills, green valleys and cool climate, Munnar has the element of nature’s beauty untouched and unspoiled.

This famous hill station in Kerala has cool climatic conditions all through the year. Throughout the months from March to May, it’s summer season during which the place experiences pleasant climate with temperatures that range from 25℃ (maximum) to a minimum of 15℃. During the rest of the months Munnar experiences cooler climatic conditions with temperature that lowers up to 10℃ or even lower.

Due to cool climate and the hill station’s altitude, one of the major crops cultivated here is tea. On the way to Munnar, one can spot several tea plantations as one drives through the hairpin bends and winding roads. A drive through the tea plantations savouring the rich aroma of tea and the pleasant sight of the greenery is quite mesmerizing.

Munnar Tourism has a rich biodiversity. The place shelters several flora and fauna and has some of the most charming and unique sights to offer, like the Neelakurinji bloom. The flower blooms every 12 years and the sight is a tantalizing one – as if a blue carpet have been laid out! Some of the most prominent places where these flowers can be found include Rajamala, Kovilur, Kadavari and also the Iravikulam National Park. Likewise, Nilgiri Tahr, the endangered mountain goat can be found at the Eravikulam national park in Munnar.
