Anandamayi Ashram

Anandamayi Ashram is a spiritual place dedicated to Sri Ma Anandamayi, an eminent spiritual personality. She was a Bengali mystic, born on 30th April 1896 and died on 27 August 1982. A Samadhi was made to bury the immortal remains of the mother inside the Ashram. The Samadhi was built in white marble with an enclosed crypt. Ma Anandamayi Ashram is a center of devotion and spirituality.

Visitors from all over the world visit the ashram and pay tribute to Ma Anandamayi, known for her yogic powers. She had travelled all over the world spreading her spiritual beliefs. This Ashram has several buildings in the well maintained complex. Tourists can visit to Gayatri Yagnashala, Ati Rudra Yagnashala, Rudraksha Tree, Shankaracharya Hall, Annapurnasthal, Ma Anandamayi Museum and Ma Anandamayi Vidyapeeth in the Ashram.

The significance of Ati Rudra Yagnashala is that it is the place where the Ati Rudra Maha Yagna was performed in 1981 where many religious saints participated. An Akhand Diya is always lightened offering a peaceful and divine feeling. It was believed that Ma before her death had organized many ceremonies for world peace.
