Char Dham Yatra From Bengaluru

Duration: – 13 Days / 12 Nights
Destination Covered: – Bangalore – Delhi – Rishikesh – Barkot – Yamunotri – Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Sitapur – Kedarnath – Pipalkoti – Joshimath – Badrinath – Srinagar – Haridwar

Day 01: Banglore – Delhi (train/flight)
Let us begin our Char dham Yatra from Bangalore by boarding on the train/flight of your choice to Delhi by evoking the grace of Lord Vigneswar to remove obstacles.

Day 02: Delhi – Rishikesh (230 km /7 hours)
Welcome to India’s capital! Our representative will greet you at the station. We will leave for Rishikesh in the night at around 10.00 pm. Overnight journey.

Day 03: Rishikesh – Barkot (200 km /7 hours)
The third morning on the pilgrimage course will have you at Rishikesh. After all, this is the ‘gateway to Garhwal Himalayas’! We have left half the day open for sightseeing in Rishikesh. Ram Jhoola, Laxman Jhoola, Geeta Ashram, Swarg Ashram etc are some sites that attract most tourist attention in this sacred city. The city reverberates with the spiritual vibrations of thousands that seek it out as their ideal ground to delve deeper into their meditative and yogic practice. The hundreds of ashrams catering to study nad mastery of yoga has earned the name of ‘yogic capital of the world’ to Rishikesh.
After lunch, we will drive towards Barkot. We will let you soak in the beauty of Kempty falls of Mussoorie on the route. Later you will be ushered into the hotel at Barkot for overnight stay.

Day 04: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (45 km road/ 6 km Trek)
We will leave from the accommodation at Barkot towards Jankichatti quite early in the morning. It is from Jankichatti that one has to ascend till the shrine on one’s own, or by hiring a pony/doli. You cannot miss the ritual of preparing cooked potatoes and rice as Prasadam in the boiling water of Surya kund, a natural hot-water spring near the Yamunotri temple. Also, one take one’s holy dip in Yamuna’s chilly water if one dares to! Offer pooja before the rock pillar of ‘Divya Shila’. After procuring the blessings of Goddess Yamuna, we will trek down till Janki Chatti. Our driver will drive you back to the hotel in Barkot. Rest and rewind in its cozy atmosphere.

Day 05: Barkot – Uttarkashi (90 km/4 hr)
After enjoying your delicious breakfast at the hotel, we will drive you to Uttarkashi. Prakateswar Mahadev, the famous cave temple of Shiva falls on the route. After having His darshan at the cave temple, we will again encounter another Shiva temple, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, in the city of Uttarkashi. We will have you stay overnight at the hotel in the city.

Day 06: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100 km /4 hr)
Leave towards Gangotri early in the morning. The drive will take you along the magnificent views of Bhagirathi’s course and Himalayan peaks. One can join the many who dare to take a dip in the holy waters of Bhagirathi in spite of its temperature being icy cold. Enjoy the blissful darshan of Ganga Maiya at her shrine. There are also idols of Lord Shiva, Ganesha and King Bharadwaj in its compound. Our driver will fetch you back to the hotel in Uttarkashi.

Day 07: Uttarkashi – Sitapur (280 km / 11 hr)
On the seventh day, we will drive towards Sitapur which will act as our base-camp for treading towards Kedarnath shrine. Upon reaching the hotel in Sitapur, take adequate rest and prepare oneself for the trek ahead on the following day towards Kedarnath shrine.

Day 08: Sitapur – Kedarnath – Sitapur (19 km trek/6 hrs)
Our driver will graciously drop you at Sonprayag. The perilous trek towards Kedarnath shrine begins at Sonprayag. One can hire a pony/doli to assist in one’s ascension. Also, there is provision for helicopter services to take you till the shrine, which one can consider at your own cost. It is important that you carry your personal medication, toiletries, sufficient warm woolen etc before one starts on the trek. Enjoy your wonderful darshan of Lord Kedarnath and return to Sitapur to rest at the hotel.

Day 09: Sitapur – Pipalkoti (120 km/ 6 hr)
After the physical exhaustion causated by the previous day’s difficult trek, one ought to enjoy the following day in leisure. In fact we will depart from the hotel only around the afternoon towards Pipalkoti. Overnight stay at the reserved hotel.

Day 10: Pipalkoti – Joshimath – Badrinath (80 km /4 hr)
We will drive towards Badrinath, halting in between at the famous Narsimha Temple of Joshimath and the confluence at Vishnuprayag. Upon reaching Badrinath, we will first explore the Mana village with its Vyas Gufa, Bhim Pul, Ganesha Gufa and Saraswati River. You are free to explore the Badri valley to your heart’s delight after checking in at the hotel. One may proceed to procure blessings of Lord Badrinarayan after taking a holy dip at its revered Tapt Kund. The Brahmakapal situated in the temple vicinity is where rituals for ancestors are conducted.

Day 11: Badrinath – Srinagar (170 km /7 hr)
After enjoying the darshan of Badrinarayan once more early in the morning, we will move to Srinagar (not to be confused with Srinagar of Jammu and Kashmir). The eleventh day of our char dham Yatra from Bangalore will have us halt three Prayag. We did halt at Vishnu prayag in the previous day, while Karnaprayag (confluence of River Pinder and Alakananda), Nandprayag (confluence of Nandakini and Alakananda) and Rudraprayag (confluence of Mandakini and Alaknanda) will be covered on day 11. Also, we will visit Dhari Devi Temple, the abode of Shakti venerated as the guardian of the entire Char Dham, and express our gratitude for her grace that held us safe throughout the journey.

Day 12: Srinagar – Haridwar (132 km /4.5 hours)
After breakfast, we will start towards Haridwar. We will halt at Devprayag, the final confluence wherein Alakananda meets Bhagirathi to become Ganga. Upon reaching Haridwar, we will take our holy dip in the holy waters of Ganga. One may even consider visiting Manasa Devi Temple. The beautiful Ganga aarti at Har-ki-Pauri is not to be missed. What better than witnessing this holy aarti to wrap up the entire char dham Yatra.

Day 13: Arrival Delhi
We will have made a hundred memories by the end of the char dham Yatra from Bangalore. Hopefully, we will leave a little closer to God, to our own inner Truth and to each other’s shared humanness.
