Char Dham Helicopter Tour Package

Day 1: Arrival in Dehradun
The tour commences with pick up from Dehradun Airport or Railway station one day prior to the Chardham Yatra departure, followed by drop to the hotel. The overnight stay at Dehradun is complimentary.

Day 2: Dehradun to Yamunotri Yatra
After the breakfast, the tour initiates from Sahastradhara helipad, Dehradun which is the starting and concluding point of the Chardham Yatra. There would be a briefing from the ground staff about the Do’s and Don’ts that ought to be kept in mind while on the trip, followed by the departure to Barkot Helipad. On arrival at Barkot, guests would be transferred to Yamunotri Cottages, Kharsali by local cab (Innova is not permitted by local taxi union). After lunch, guests are provided with a pony or palki reserved for onwards trek (05KM) to Yamunotri Dham, the first temple visit of the Chota Char Dham shrines. Yamunotri is built near the geographical origins of River Yamuna near the Bandarpoonch Parvat. While River Yamuna emerges from Champasar Glacier, the temple is located 1 km below it. The black marble idol of the Goddess worshipped in this temple built by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal is a sight to behold. In addition, the sacred hot-water springs at Janki Chatti also draw a lot of pilgrim attention. The day concludes with transfer to the hotel, followed by dinner.

Day 3: Yamunotri to Gangotri Yatra
The day starts with an early morning departure to Barkot helipad, to then fly to Harsil Helipad, lying amidst the beautiful lush green valleys. Depending upon the time, breakfast would either be arranged at Barkot or Harshil. Upon reaching Harsil, guests will be transferred to the hotel by cab. Post lunch, the tour continues with a drive towards the next Chardham destination - Gangotri. Gangotri Dham, the 18th century’s temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga is located near a sacred stone where King Bhagirathi worshipped Lord Shiva. Ganga is believed to have touched earth at this spot. The day concludes with transfer to the hotel, followed by dinner.

Day 4: Gangotri to Kedarnath Yatra
Early morning after breakfast, the guests depart from Harsil helipad. Due to government regulations, there would be a change of chopper at Phata helipad to continue to Kedarnath. Surrounded by snowcapped peaks, Kedarnath is the most remote site among all Char Dhams in Uttarakhand. The Kedarnath temple, the holy shrine of Lord Shiva houses one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India. The temple lies at a distance of approximately 500 meters from the helipad and reaching it would take about 15 minutes. Walk towards the hotel (cost for porter or Pitthu shall be borne by the client) and then check-in at the hotel. Post lunch, the tour continues with a trek by foot to Bhairon Mandir (which is optional) and witness evening aarti. The day concludes with transfer to the hotel, followed by dinner.

Day 5: Kedarnath to Badrinath Yatra
The tour offers a surreal experience of performing “Rudra Abhishek” at Kedarnath at 4 AM. Post breakfast, the tour continues with a walk to helipad or board shuttle and fly to Phata helipad for a change of helicopter to reach Badrinath helipad. After deboarding at Badrinath helipad, guests would be transferred to the hotel by cab. Post lunch, the tour continues with a visit to the Badrinath temple. The holy temple of Lord Vishnu, known as Lord Badri is one of the divine 108 Divya Desams. Depending upon the time, the guests can also visit the Mana village near Badrinath temple, which is the last village before Indo-China border, inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe. The day concludes with transfer to the hotel, followed by dinner.

Day 6: Badrinath to Dehradun
The best has been saved for the last. The highlight of this Yatra is to witness the sacred “Maha Abhishek Pooja” which commences at 4:30 AM and continues for almost two hours. Special arrangements would be made for guests to sit inside the temple near the deity. Conclude the Yatra with your heart filled with gratitude and awe for all of God’s blessings. After breakfast, guests would depart towards Dehradun from the Badrinath helipad, followed by a drop to the Dehradun airport/railway station.
