Kota Zoological Park

Kota Zoological Park was established in the year 1905 by the then Maharaja of Kota. The forest area of the Hadoti region was rich in wild flora and fauna such as Tiger, Panther, Sloth bear, Hyena, Chinkara, Blue bulls, Sambar, Blackbuck, Jackal, Wolf, Otter, Star tortoises, and variety of Turtles, Peacocks, various kinds of Vultures, Crocodile and Ghariyal, etc. To entertain royal guest’s wild animals were kept in enclosures. These enclosures were built amidst gardens and fountains. These structures are so strong that they are intact even today. In the year 1954 control of Kota Zoo was taken up by DFO, Kota Wildlife in Rajasthan.

The specialty of this zoological park is that it acts as a garden suitable for family picnics. And this picnic spot is also home to many bears, tigers, ducks, bees, birds, pet animals, monkeys, rabbits, and other fruit and flower-bearing plants.

Information on Kota Zoo-

Kota Zoo comes under the category of a small zoo and was established in the year 1905 over an area of about 2.2 hectares in Kota, Rajasthan wildlife Tour.

The zoo is having a very less variety of animal species that include lion, tiger, deer, ostrich, crocodile, snakes, and tortoises as the main attraction.

Birds of few kinds can also be spotted here like emu, peacock, parrots, and ducks Kota Zoological Park.

Most of the cages are empty and do not have animals in them. This place requires a lot of attention from the government for its development and to promote tourism.

Lack of animal varieties withdraws this place from must places to visit in Kota. But if you have a keen interest in wildlife species, then it is a must-visit place for you.

Photography is allowed here and a lot of people and school children visit here and enjoy their day with animals.

Timings of Kota Zoo-

The timings of Kota Zoo are from 9 am to 6:30 pm in the evening.

The zoo remains closed on Tuesdays.

Best Time To Visit

Kota Zoological Park welcomes its visitors throughout the year, however, there’s a particular period of time that is suitable for the animals as well as visitors. October-March is the best season for visiting this zoological park as it is the period when the weather is suitable and the animals welcome their infants.

Entry and photography to this zoological park are paid. The entry charges depend upon the nationality of the tourist, whereas, still camera and video camera charges differ.
