Jait Sagar Lake Bundi

A visit to the Jait Sagar Lake is one of the most popular excursions that can be undertaken from the town of Bundi in Rajasthan. Bundi is one of the less explored and less frequented cities in Rajasthan . There are many places of attractions in the city that speak of the rich traditional and cultural heritage of the city. Apart from the attractions in the city, there are many places in close proximity to Bundi, which can be visited on a short excursion. Located at a distance of three kilometers from Bundi, the Jait Sagar Lake can be reached via rickshaws or buses. The Jait Sagar Lake in Bundi is situated in a beautiful natural setting. Some of these beautiful cenotaphs even have wonderful, delicate carvings of horses and elephants. There are many tour companies, which take the tourists for exciting excursions to Kshar Bagh and Jait Sagar Lake. The caretaker over here will show you around informing the tourists about the names of the various rulers, dates and their wives. For instance, Maharaja Satru Sele, who ruled during the 17th century, apparently had sixty-four queens.
Other popular tourist attractions near Jait Sagar Lake include Shikar Burj, a former hunting lodge, which was known for its large range of tigers, boars and deer. Located next to the water tank, it is also known as a popular picnic spot among both tourists and locals.

Bundi Attractons

The Taragarh Fort in Bundi is undoubtedly its most popular tourist destination. Built in the 14th century, the fort is situated on a hilltop that is covered with trees and offers spectacular views of the town below. The fort complex also houses a water tank that used to supply water to the Bundi Palace. The Bundi Palace is another magnificent tourist spot, in its own right. Also built on a hill, perhaps a little before the fort, the architecture of the palace portrays the classic Rajputana style. Carvings and murals within the palace add an inexplicable charm, luring visitors from all over. The famous step-well in Bundi, called the Raniji Ki Baori, should not be missed. Built in the 17th century by Princess Rani Nathavatji, the well is about 46 meters deep and has a tall, arched gate and beautifully carved pillars. It is said that the best season to visit this unique step-well is in the monsoon.
