Jaisalmer Airport information as a civil enclave on an Indian Air Force base. It has a single runway of 2,700 meter long and 46 meter wide. Vayudoot and Kingfisher Airlines used to operate from this airport but now it has been closed.
Recently Airports Authority of India had contructed a new terminal which was completed in 2013, since Jaisalmer is an important tourist destination of Rajasthan and many tourist defy to visit due to lack of air services to Jaisalmer. This new terminal was sought to be open by August 2013 but yet have not been inaugrated.

Jaisalmer Airport (IATA: JSA) is a civil enclave public airport and shares its base and operations with an Indian Air Force Base in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Jaisalmer Airport is located in the suburb of Dhauwa, around 15 km to the southwest of the main town centre of Jaisalmer. Formerly, carriers such as Kingfisher Airlines and Vayudoot have flown to this airport, which has a single runway. While the terminal construction was completed by 2013, flight services didn’t resume until as recent as September 2017 to nearby destinations within Rajasthan and beyond.

Jaisalmer Airport is well connected to the city via general taxis, prepaid taxis, autorickshaws and even hotel shuttles and private, one-way transfers from the airport to any desired hotel you wish to go to.

Flights at Jaisalmer airport:
Jaisalmer Airport has only one runway. Currently, flights operating in and out of Jaisalmer go to and come from only three destinations – New Delhi, Jaipur and Jodhpur. This includes both direct and connecting flights. There are no international cities connected by direct or indirect flights from Jaisalmer.
