Bharat Mata Mandir

Bharat Mata Mandir, popularly known as the Mother India Temple, is a noted religious site in Haridwar. This temple is devoted to Bharat Mata and was constructed by the famous religious guru, Swami Satyamitranand Giri. The late Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, inaugurated this temple in 1983. This eight-storeyed temple is located at a height of 180 ft. Each floor of the shrine is dedicated to different Hindu deities and freedom fighters. The most prominent amongst all is the idol of Bharat Mata on the first floor. The second floor features the Shoor Mandir, a tribute to the dedicated heroes of India while the third floor's Matru Mandir beautifully honours the great women of India.

The fourth floor is dedicated to the great Indian saints and the fifth floor displays the religions, history and beauty of different parts of India. Various forms and incarnations of Goddess Shakti and Lord Vishnu can be seen on the sixth and seventh floor respectively. The eighth floor is a treat for both the nature enthusiasts and the spiritual souls as it holds a shrine of Lord Shiva from which one can witness an exceptional picturesque view of the Himalayas, Haridwar and Sapta Sarovar.

First Floor : First floor is dedicated to Bharat Mata (Mother India) it has the statue of Bharat Mata.
Second Floor : The second floor 'Shoor Mandir' is dedicated to the well renowned heroes of India.
Third Floor : The third floor 'Matru Mandir' is dedicated to the achievements of India's revered women such as Meera Bai, Savitri, Maitri etc.
Fourth Floor : The fourth floor the great saints from various religions, including Jainism, Sikhism and Buddhism are featured on 'Sant Mandir'. It is the Sant Mandir and features great saints of the Jainism, Sikhism and Buddhism faith.
Fifth Floor : The Assembly Hall with walls depicting symbolic coexistence of all religions practiced in India and paintings portraying history and beauty in various provinces of India are situated on the fifth floor.
Sixth Floor : The various forms of the Goddess of Shakti can be seen on the sixth floor, it is dedicated to Goddess Shakti of the Hindu religion.
Seventh Floor : The seventh floor is devoted to all incarnations of Lord Vishnu the preserver form of the holy Hindu Trinity.
Eighth Floor : The uppermost floor features the shrine of Lord Shiva, the supreme god in Hindu tradition.

How to Reach Bharat Mata Mandir
Its only 05 km far from Haridwar, 22kms from Rishikesh, 220 km from Delhi, 50 km from Dehradun, 25 km from Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun, 85 km from Mussoorie. Rickshaw and Auto (Tuk -Tuk) are also available for the Temple.
