It is a medical and research institute of yoga and Ayurveda. It is making Haridwar a popular place for Ayurveda treatment and medicines. It was founded by Yog guru Baba Ramdev in the year 2006. It is named after the inventor of Yoga, Maharishi Patanjali. This organization is run by Patanjali Yog Peeth’s trust. This organization offers treatments to patients through Ayurveda, laboratories and the research centers are also part of this organization.
History :- Originally this organization was founded in the year 2006 by Yog Guru Baba Ramdev. In 2009, the second phase of this organization was developed for a residential yoga camp. Patanjali University, food, and herbal park were also developed. This organization can be visited at any time of the day.
How to reach :- This Yogpeeth is located on the Roorkee road which is 15 km away from Haridwar. The nearest railhead is about 17 km away which is Haridwar railway station. Jolly Grant Airport of Dehradun is a nearby airport which is 50 km away.

2. Shantikunj Haridwar
Shantikunj is the epicenter of Spirituality in Haridwar. There are millions of followers forming a big Gayatri Pariwar. This place is visited by some famous personalities like Dalai Lama, Murari Bapu, Late Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam, etc. Shantikunj is working for the awakening of cultural, ethical, moral, and spiritual values of a person. They provide spiritual training and education also. Shantikunj is also having a research center known as Brahmavarchas on the Sapt Sarovar road. A residential university complex also developed by them is known as Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya.
History :- Shantikunj ashram was established in 1971 by Pandit Shri Ram Sharma Acharya Ji. This ashram was slowly developed. In the year 2002, the University was also opened by this ashram named Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, where the aim was to provide Knowledge with cultural values. There is a Yagya shala, Bhojanalaya, and canteen in this ashram. There is Hall where the meditation can be done is known as Himalaya because the artificial Himalayan mountains are carved there.
How to reach :- The distance of Shantikunj is about 6 km from Haridwar railway station. You can get the shared auto from the Haridwar bus stand, directly to the asham. The nearest airport is 30 km away which is Jolly Grant airport.

3. Saptrishi Ashram
Saptrishi Ashram is located on the bank of River Ganga near Sapt Sarovar. It was founded in 1943 by Goswami Guru Dutt. This is a well-maintained ashram having several rooms where tourists can stay. A Sanskriti school and a residential hotel are located in the complex for poor children.
History:- As per Hindu mythology, the seven sages named Kashyapa, Vashisht, Vishwamitra, Jamadagi, Atri, Bharadwaja, and Gautam. These sages decided to meditate on the bank of River Ganga and the river was flowing in full speed distributed into the seven streams so that the meditation of the sages may not get disturbed. So this was how the Sapt Sarovar was Formed and the place where seven sages meditated is the place where the Saptrishi ashram is formed.
How to reach:- This ashram is located at a distance of 5 km from Haridwar in the Motichur area. You can hire a direct taxi or auto from the Haridwar bus stand. The nearest railway station to the ashram is Haridwar Railway station at a distance of 7 km. Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun at a distance of 30 km is the nearest airport.

4. Ma Anandamayi Ashram
This is a spiritual place located in Haridwar and is dedicated to Ma Anandamayi. She was a Bengali mystic and is buried at Anandamayi ashram. This center for the finder of spirituality is located in Kankhal town. Visitors from all around the world visit this place. There are several buildings in this well-maintained ashram. Tourists can visit Gayatri Yagya shala, rudraksha tree and Shankaracharya hall, Ma Anandamayi museum, and Vidyapeeth in the ashram.

5. Pawan Dham
Pawan Dhan is a non-profit organization and also the most visited pilgrimage site for Hindus. This was founded by Swami Vedantanand. This temple is famous for the idols and their precious jewelry. The Indian architecture is adopted for this temple, the glasswork and precious carvings on the walls are done. It is believed that visiting this temple removes all the sins. This temple is at a distance of 2 km from Haridwar and 3 km from Har Ki Pauri.
How to reach:- This temple is located in Bhupatwala, Haridwar. This sacred place is about 3 km from Har Ki Pauri ghat. The nearest bus stand and railhead is the Haridwar bus stand and Haridwar railway station respectively, which is 5 km away from the temple. 6. Jairam Ashram
This temple was established by Adi Guru Shri Jai Ram Maharaj in 1891. The renovation of the entire premises is done by Devendra Swarup Ji. He created many things like Satsang Bhavan, a Homeopathic dispensary, and Sanskrit college in Rishikesh. Few medical camps are organized for the people who can’t afford and they distribute it free of cost. There are 512 rooms in the ashram. In each, there is every modern facility provided, an ashram is also having AC and non-AC rooms.
How to reach:- You can hire a taxi or choose any private or local vehicle to reach the ashram located at Bhimgoda in Haridwar. The nearest railhead is the Haridwar railway station which is about 6 km away. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun which is 34 km away. You can take any local vehicle to the ashram.

7. Prem Nagar Ashram
This ashram was founded in 1943 by Yogiraj Satgurudev Shri Hans Ji Maharaj at Haridwar. Later it was taken over by his wife Jagat Janani Shri Mata Ji and his son Shri Satpal Ji Maharaj. The garden of this ashram has 250 varieties of flowers. The garden is also having Pancha Pallava which is a combination of 3 trees that are growing together naturally. The peak of Chandi Devi and Mansa Devi is visible from this ashram. It is an ideal place for meditation. There are about 800 rooms in this ashram having AC and non-AC rooms. Every Wednesday and Sunday a light and sound show is organized.
How to reach:- This ashram is located on Jwalapur road and tourists can hire a taxi, bus or any other private vehicle to reach this place. The nearest bus stand is the Haridwar bus stand from where you can take local transport to this ashram. The nearest railway station is the Haridwar railway station which is 5 km away. 8. Ramanand Ashram
This ashram is located at a distance of 2.4 km from the Har Ki Pauri ghat. Ramanand ashram is located in Shravan Nath Nagar which is also the nearest railhead. Shri Ramanand Swami was born in a brahmin family and was also considered as the incarnation of the Uddavji who was a close friend of Lord Krishna. This foundation is headed by Uddav samaj.
How to reach:- This ashram is located near the Haridwar railway station. The road is well connected to the major cities of India. Haridwar railway station is well connected to Delhi, Kolkata, and Lucknow, etc. the nearest airport is Jolly Grant airport.
