The foundation stone of the Rajiv Gandhi Natural Regional Museum was laid by the Honorable Vice President of India, Hamid Ansari in December 2007. And it was inaugurated on 1 March 2014 by the state’s Finance Minister Namo Narayan Meena. Underlined by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, the museum is set to emerge as an important center for environmental education. And it makes people aware of the conservation of nature and natural resources in the country.

The Rajiv Gandhi Natural Regional Museum is spread over an area of ​​7.2 acres. This museum is elegantly designed and aims to create awareness about the diverse life on earth. It is the fourth such museum in the country after Mysore, Bhopal, and Bhubaneswar. The Rajiv Gandhi Natural Regional Museum is a non-formal center for creating awareness of people about nature and natural resources through exhibitions and educational activities.
