Hauz Khas Village


Hauz Khas Village is the perfect amalgamation of a touch of the beautiful past with the revving raving present , popular complex in Delhi which is essentially popular for its designer boutiques, specialty restaurants. This urban village or HKV as it is popularly known also houses an Islamic seminary, The etymology of the two words Hauz Khas in the Persian language means Hauz Tank and Khas means Royal meaning the Royal water tank pertaining to the water tank around which the whole structure is built.It also has its major attraction "the hauz khas fort" ,It's a perfect hangout place for college friends, and so for quick family outings. Like any other fort this fort mesmerizes the observer and he appreciates our history. Hauz Khas Fort established by Alauddin Khilji in the year 1284 to ensure continuous supply of water to Siri Fort.

Hauz Khas History
Hauz Khas which translates to the "Royal Lake" in English is the name of the lake which is now a part of much expanded Hauz Khas complex. The reservoir, commissioned by Allaudin Khilji, had a primary task of supplying water to Siri Fort. The lake is surrounded by a mosque, a tomb, and a seminary. The Hauz Khas Complex was developed by DLF in the sixties and is scattered as different blocks from A to Z. Blocks E, F and G are the major market blocks.

How To Reach Hauz Khas Village
The nearest bus stop is Hauz Khas at Aurobindo Marg. The nearest metro station is Hauz Khas and Green Park on the yellow line. Cabs are available from all points in the city. The Hauz Khas Village has only one multilevel parking which gets full pretty soon. The surface parking lot can accommodate nearly 200 cars while the underground parking can accommodate 350 cars. The parking rate is INR 100 in order to ease the traffic congestion here.
