Wayanad

Wayanad is a district situated in the north-eastern part of Kerala, India. It has its headquarters at Kalpetta town. The glory of Wayanad includes the majestic Western Ghats alongwith deep valleys, towering ridges, twisted jungles and dense forest scattered around. The hills are lower in the centre of the district. Whereas, the northern part of the district has high hills which give a wild and rocky appearance to the district. It is the only district of Kerala sharing its border with the nearby states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Wayanad is 2000sq km of magnificent forest, upland meadow and spice plantations, still home to tribal people who live as they have for thousands of years, their history stretching back to Mesolithic times.
