Pasighat In the year 1911, Pasighat, a town in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, was founded. It is the most ancient town of Arunachal Pradesh. The East Siang District’s headquarters is situated in this town of Pasighat. The tag line of “gateway of Arunachal Pradesh” has been given to Pasighat. Many a number of interesting and intriguing locations are there in and around Pasighat. From the term ‘Pasis’, which is the name of a tribe in this region, the name Pasighat came into existence.

The elevation of the town of Pasighat is 155 meters above the sea level. The summer months witness a hot and humid weather and the winter months remain temperate. Because of the location of Pasighat and locations in and around this place, that is they are located right in the central part of Arunachal Pradesh, these areas are known as the heart of Arunachal Pradesh. For tourists as well as for a photographer, this place is an ideal location for visiting, because of the presence of the spectacular backdrop of mountains, hills and the luxuriously green river beds and meadows. This river passes across the complete region and then it moves downward into Assam’s plain valleys, in the south direction of the town of Pasighat. Eventually it converges with the river Dihang and Lohit and then comes to be known as Brahmaputra. The place contains some kind of a magic and appeal, which induces the tourists to come back here, time after time.

This charming little town Pasighat during summers experiences hot and humid climate. The temperatures range from 20°c - 35°c. But you can visit a summer attraction about 60km from Pasighat where River Siang meets River Siyom, this gives a marvellous sight to the spectators.

Monsoon in Pasighat: July to September
Monsoon in Pasighat is calming with cool breeze and raindrops on the tined roofs. During this season the temperatures drop to 18°c - 29°c. It is not a suitable time to visit this place as most of the attractions will be closed.

Winters in Pasighat: Oct to March
Visiting Pasighat during the winter season is considered the best time to visit for sightseeing expedition. During winters you can visit tourist interest attractions like Daying Ering Wild Life Sanctuary, with other excursions places of interest like Akashiganga, Malinithan, Along, Kekar Monying and rafting in area like River Siang and Brahmaputra.
