Nagaon

Nagaon, presently known as Nowgong, is a city in Assam. It is the 5th largest city after Guwahati, Silchar, Dibrugarh & Jorhat. Nagaon is best known for housing the Kaziranga Sanctuary that boasts the largest number of one-horned rhinoceros in the world. The nickname 'Rice Bowl of Assam' is given to Nagaon due to a wider growth of paddy crops in the area.
