Bera Leopard Safari

Located at a distance of134 km from Udaipur, Bera is an adventurer lovers' favorite spot nestled in Aravalli ranges that endows with a serene and attractive background to holiday at and witness the leopards. Now Bera in Rajasthan is known as the Jawai Bandh Community Reserve, and you can find caves and rocks here that offer an ideal home for leopards. Certainly, Bera is sure to take you away from the jam-packed city full of chaos. As the forest and the terrain are less traveled around by people, you can get to take pleasure in the plentiful sighting of real nature and its dwellers. Upon visiting here, you must take some time to experience the jungle safari and be pleased about the course of nature.

The Leopards typically sleep inside the hillocks in the day, and go out to hunt or change places in the night. Early mornings and late evenings are the best times when they come out in the open to give darshan to souls like us who keep waiting for them. The hunts typically include stray dogs and local cattle sometimes. One very interesting thing about Bera is that the peaceful co-existence of man and animal for last many decades. There has not been a single case of a Leopard killing human or locals killing Leopard in last many years, which is remarkable considering that the habitats of Leopards and humans are interspersed with each other. The hillocks are adjoining several small villages with human population and the Leopards even go to these villages to pick up Dogs etc, but have never attacked any human. There are multiple sighting points of Leopards discovered by the locals spread across an area of over 400 Sq Kms. These are some of my remarkable Leopard moments at Bera

Perfect time to watch Wildlife in Bera
There is no limitation for enjoying the untamed wildlife over here. There is no particular season or time to explore this place. However, during summer, the climate is unbearably sweltering so the sightings also lessen, as panthers incline toward remaining covered up in their asylum. During the long stretches of October, November and February, because of the cool and fine weather, one can enjoy the sights of the leopards very easily! During the months of December and January, one can get to see the elusive cats only and also some of the migratory birds because of the chilled weather.
