History of Bagore Ki Haveli Dance Show

The Bagore Ki Haveli Dance Show traces its roots to the royal heritage of Udaipur and the cultural traditions of the Mewar region. Bagore Ki Haveli was built in the 18th century by Amar Chand Badwa, the Prime Minister of Mewar, and originally served as a residence for royal nobles. The haveli was once a venue for cultural gatherings and traditional performances during royal events and festivals.

After years of neglect following independence, the West Zone Cultural Centre restored the haveli to preserve its historical and artistic value. To revive and promote Rajasthan’s folk heritage, the evening dance show was introduced. Featuring classical folk forms such as Ghoomar, Bhavai, Kalbelia, and Terah Taali, the show today reflects centuries-old traditions once performed in royal courts and village celebrations.
