History of Nahargarh Biological Park
The Nahargarh Biological Park is part of the larger Nahargarh Sanctuary, which was initially established as a reserve for leopards, lions, and various herbivores. The biological park itself spans over 720 hectares and was established to conserve and protect wildlife. It is also an important center for environmental education and research.
The park houses several species of flora and fauna, including lions, leopards, sloth bears, and a variety of bird species. However, with the recent introduction of the tiger safari, the park has gained a new and exciting dimension. The park’s well-preserved landscape and focus on animal care ensure that both animals and visitors have a safe, enjoyable experience.
The Tiger Safari is a new initiative aimed at providing tourists with a chance to observe tigers in their natural habitat while promoting wildlife conservation and tourism. With the presence of tigress Bhakti and other big cats like Chameli and Gulab, Nahargarh’s tiger population has been growing steadily. The safari is a controlled environment that not only gives a unique opportunity for tiger sightings but also contributes to the well-being of these animals.
