Surajkund Craft fair is organized by the Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Culture-Government of India in collaboration with Haryana Tourism, in the month of February, every year. First celebrated in 1981, the fair continues to be a strong platform for skilled artists and craftsmen from abroad to display their skilled crafts and art work derived from their rich culture and tradition. Also various artists from all over the country display the rich traditional products of India in the typical rural setting that bring alive the age-old living crafts tradition.

The festival ground turns colorful with a number of make-shift stalls, that exhibits range of hand loom and Indian craft items, offering visitors the exquisite paintings, textiles, wood stock, ivory work, pottery, terracotta, stonework, lacquer work, mirror embroidery work and cane and grass work. Visitors can find the varied handicraft treasure here at one place. Interestingly fair is not only limited to exhibitions of artwork but stages for Natyashala(theater) workshops, musical evenings are also organized, these programs are also accompanied by lip smacking and delicious rural cuisine, adding flavors to this world renowned crafts fair.

The land is ideally suited for all year round happening activities for tourists from India or abroad. Organized every year in February, the Surajkund crafts-fair is a fortnight-long gathering of craftsmen from all over India. The entire fair is set up around the kund or Sun Pool and has a different theme every year.
