Best Time to Visit Rajasthan

The largest state in India, Rajasthan's climate can be divided into four seasons i.e. summer, monsoon, post-monsoon and winter. Temperatures vary depending on the season and the region you plan to visit, but by and large you can visit the state any time of year and find something new to do each time.

Summer (April to June)
Summer months in Rajasthan are better avoided by travellers. The temperature goes up to 35-48°C on almost all days. Besides the burning heat, the state also experiences frequent dust storms all of which could leave travellers fatigued and ill. However, if you plan to visit Rajasthan in summers then hit places like Mount Abu, Kumbhalgarh or Ranakpur which stay relatively cooler. Summer months also have some interesting fairs and festivals like Mahaveerji Fair, Mount Abu Summer Festival, and Teej celebration. To enjoy the trip and avoid any health risks fill your bags with light cotton clothes, caps, scarves and lots of sunscreen. Stay hydrated and eat light but frequent meals.

Monsoon in Rajasthan - July till September
When the monsoons moisturize the dry and sandy landscape and make Rajasthan one of the prettiest lands in the world. Peacocks dance to the music of the rain as the entirety of this desert paradise is touched by what appears like a magic wand in the hands of an invisible, omnipotent magician. One of the best places to visit in Rajasthan during monsoon is Udaipur. Fondly referred to as the Venice of East, Udaipur dons intoxicating hues as the monsoon fills up several lakes of this royal city. Voted most romantic city in India, Udaipur is also home to the Taj Lake Palace voted one of the most romantic hotels in the world. Monsoon is a great time to experience the romance in this heritage hotel. If you are interested in monsoon holidays in India. we'd recommend that you visit our collection here .

If tourists want to explore the desert regions like Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Bikaner, winter is the best time for a vacation in Rajasthan. The maximum number of festivals in Rajasthan takes place in winter. Also, it is a good time to enjoy some adventure activities.
