Saheliyon ki Bari in Udaipur
Situated on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake, Saheliyon ki Bari is one of the best tourist attractions in Udaipur. Saheliyon Ki Bari is a beautiful garden which is famous for its lush green lawns, fountains and marble art, and hence a green retreat in the dry lands of Rajasthan.
Built by Maharana Sangram Singh in the 18th century, this green paradise used to be the relaxing spot for the royal ladies of Udaipur. Being given a superb architecture the alluring garden offers a breathtaking view in every direction. Dotted with ornamental pools, lotus blossoms, bougainvillea creepers, carved marble elephants and bird fountains, Saheliyon Ki Bari is perfect for anyone looking to beat the city heat of Udaipur.
There are numerous pavilions of rain fountains built on the premises, which serve as the star attractions in Saheliyon Ki Bari. These terraces are placed along a reservoir which has four cenotaphs in the corners. Besides admiring the beautiful ambience, one can explore the huge collection of the royal households, which are put on exhibition in the garden’s museum.
