Samode is a town that lies in the Indian state of Rajasthan. This town was established by Maharaja Rajveer Singh in the early 17th century. Samode is well-known for housing the intricately carved monuments and gardens that were constructed during the reign of Maharaja Rajveer Singh. Today, it is a popular tourist site located in Rajasthan. Hemmed in the foothills of the Aravali range, Samode is elevated at a height of 500 feet above the sea level. The land of this town is a craggy terrain. This region experiences an arid climate. The summers are burning hot as the median mercury level touches 46°C. It falls down at 26°C during the winter season. Samode is famous for housing the intricately carved Samode Palace. This splendor is located on the outskirts of Shekhawat village. The interior walls of the palace are bedecked with the frescos and miniature paintings. Also, Samode Garden is an alluring garden located within the boundaries of the palace. Tourist Attractions in Samode
Samode Palace is one of the prominent tourist attraction of Samode. Initially this palace was constructed about 400 years ago as a Rajput fort. In the 19th century it was converted into architectural style palace with beautiful decoration and a garden is also built nearby. Samode palace is well-known for the ornately painted Durbar Hall and high quality of its frescos which are painted in indigo colours. Inside the Samode palace the main attraction is Sultan Mahal and Sheesh Mahal which is known as the hall of mirrors. These palaces are ornamented with wall paintings which clearly portrays ancient hunting and love scenes. Other tourist attractions in Samode include temples, havelis, and chattris. Samode Ke Veer Hanuman Ji Temple is a well known temple in Samode which is on a hill top with panoramic view of valleys.

Handicrafts in Samode
Local people of Samode are famous for their creative production. It is the residence of various artists like stone and paper painting artists, carpet weavers, bangle and jewellery makers, metal workers, mojadi (jooti), potters, gem cutters, lac makers and as well as bed and pillow cover makers.

Samode Bagh : Built more than 400 years ago by Rawal Sheo Singhji, it is modelled on the geometric style of the Mughal Garden. Members of the Samode family came here to enjoy rare moments of privacy and relax in the airy pavilions, surrounded by rippling water fountains. A special feature of the stay here is the accommodation being provided in the tents. Meeting point at the Bagh is the elegantly furnished Durbar tent. Samode Palace : The history of Samode Palace goes back to more than four and a half centuries. Prithviraj Singhji of Amber, the seventeenth prince of the house of Kachhawah Rajputs, had awarded Samode to one of his twelve sons – Gopal Singhji alongwith the hereditary title of Rawal Saheb. Set cosily in the scenic rocky hills, Samode Palace with its stately majesty opens a grand journey into the glorious past through its frescoed corridors. The palace is full of architectural delights. The birds, animals and flowers painted on the walls of the Sultan Mahal, the dining room with its stained glass windows and its collection of old family portraits, the Durbar Hall with its painted ceilings and intricately carved walls and beautiful chandeliers, give this palace its ethnic charm. Each room is done up in traditional Rajasthani style and the antique furniture blends well with the surroundings. A traditional welcome with camel carts, buggies, elephants and local musicians is organized on preference. Camel safaris are available.

Samode does not have any airport. Most convenient airports from Samode are the ones in Delhi (264kms) and Jaipur (40kms). Delhi has both domestic and international airports while Jaipur has only domestic one. Both the cities are a short drive away from Samode.

A good network of roads connect Samode with prominent north Indian cities. Delhi (264kms), the capital of India and Jaipur (40kms) the capital of Rajasthan are well linked to Samode by road.

By Train :
The nearest railhead from Samode is Jaipur, which in only 40kms away from here. Jaipur being the capital of Rajasthan is connected to cities like: Delhi, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Mumbai and Kolkata by well laid-out rail network.
