SARISKA PALACE, ALWAR

Built
in 1892 A.D. by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh of Alwar, the
grand Sariska Palace is located outside the Sariska
National Park and is just 130 km away from Jaipur,
Rajasthan. Originally built as a hunting lodge,
Sariska Palace used to be an ideal gateway to the
wilderness of the forest situated nearby and also
acted as a retreat for the nobles who came here to
spend some quality time amongst the mellifluous
ditties of the folk singers and dancers during the
evening hours. Admired for its architectural grandeur
and natural beauty, Sariska Palace is visited by many
tourists around the world throughout the whole year.
With typical high ceilings and spacious rooms and
suites, the hotel offers a pleasant and memorable

Birding : A total of 211 species was recorded, of
which 120 were resident, 73 were migrant visitors and
18 were
considered to be vagrants.
Wildlife: The Sariska Sanctuary is a Project Tiger
Reserve with a rich wealth of fauna which include
mainly the leopard, several species of deer,
porcupine, etc. It is home to an exotic variety of
birds.
